Learning Objectives

  1. Nurture creativity and imagination: With the use of playing and listening to music to develop students’ musical ideas and composition skills as well as creativity and imagination;
  2. Develop musical intelligence in practice: Through practical experience and performance to development skills and cultivate their imagination and sense in music;
  3. Nurture the ability to appreciate music: to understand, respond and appreciate music and
  4. Understand the context of music: to understand the function and the relationship between music and culture.

Characteristics of Curriculum

  1. Create:
    • Students in KS1 make their own music instruments and create rhymes that they would perform in class which is to experience and enjoy playing music;
    • Inspire students in KS2 to be creative and imaginative via activities such as writing phrase and “Sound Composition”;
  2. Appreciate:
    • Through participation in different music activity to raise the appreciation and exposure to different genres of music;
  3. Train:
    • Through “Star Scheme” to learn different music instruments so as to develop their performance skills;
    • Teaching flutes in class for P. 3 to P. 6 students to experience the fun in playing music;
    • Show what they learnt through different activities and competitions.
