Learning Objectives

  1. The Visual Arts learning units can inspire students’ aesthetic potential and creativity interests. Their observation, imagination and creativity can also be developed.
  2. Develop students’ interest in Visual Arts: they acquire the ability to appreciate and give critical response to works of visual arts.
  3. They can learn Chinese and Western arts culture by means of various kinds of media.

Characteristics of Curriculum

  1. In the aspect of Visual Arts curriculum design, appropriate and assessable learning objectives and content should be offered.
  2. Different curriculum organizations, diversified learning and teaching strategies, and methods of assessment should be provided.
  3. Learning activities should be designed according to the 4 key learning targets namely developing creativity and imagination, developing skills and processes, cultivating critical responses and understanding arts in context.
  4. Considerable efforts should be made to integrate art appreciation and criticism with art making to achieve the aims of Visual Arts curriculum.
