“Heritage Programme- Intangible Cultural Heritage”

In 2017-2018, we joined “Heritage Programme- Intangible Cultural Heritage” Scheme organized by The Chinese University of Hong Kong and sponsored by Tin Ka Ping Foundation. P. 5 students took a course about the history of “fire dragon” and had the opportunity to make their own mini fire dragons. Staring from fire dragon parade in mid-autumn, students got to know the origin of Pokfulam fire dragon through personal experience. We are honored to have the founder of Aberdeen Fire Dragon Parade to deliver the skills in making fire dragons. With these experiences, students finished making their fire dragons. Both teachers and students had learnt a lot in the process.

In 2018-2019, we continued to take part in “Heritage Programme- Intangible Cultural Heritage” Scheme organized by The Chinese University of Hong Kong and sponsored by Tin Ka Ping Foundation. Adopting the fire dragon project from last year, P. 4 students learn about the unique history and culture of Hong Kong “milk tea and egg tart”. It was meaningful and wonderful experience for our students to make their own milk tea and oven for baking the egg tarts. Our students later shared what they learnt with the fellows from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and our affiliated school. Four of our P. 6 students were invited by The Chinese University of Hong Kong to participate in “Hong Kong-Suzhou Chinese Culture Tour” during which students visited Humble Administrator's Garden, the greatest garden in Jiangnan. They learnt the culture of Suzhou such as the Su Embroidery and Su Fan.
